Legal terms
Terms of Use
The conditions for accessing WageWise Canada calculators, guides, contact tools and future services.
Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using WageWise Canada, you agree to these Terms of Use and the related Privacy Policy and General Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the website or rely on its calculators.
These terms apply to public calculators, guides, update pages, contact tools and other WageWise content. Additional terms may be presented before any future account, paid product, API or embedded service is offered.
Educational estimates, not professional advice
WageWise Canada provides general information and calculation estimates. It does not provide legal, payroll, tax, accounting, financial or human-resources advice and does not create a professional-client, employment, fiduciary or government relationship.
Employment standards depend on jurisdiction, worker status, occupation, industry, dates, agreements, contracts and facts that a calculator may not collect. Official authorities, legislation, payroll records and binding agreements prevail over WageWise content.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for entering accurate information, selecting the correct jurisdiction, reading the assumptions and exclusions and confirming important results. Do not use a WageWise estimate as the sole basis for withholding wages, issuing a final pay, ending employment, filing a legal claim or making another material decision.
Calculator fields are not a secure storage system. Do not enter names, Social Insurance Numbers, account numbers, confidential payroll data or information that is not requested by the tool.
Acceptable use
You may use the public website for lawful personal, educational and internal business purposes. You must not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass security controls, submit malicious code, overload forms, scrape at a level that impairs availability, misrepresent WageWise content as an official government decision or use the site to violate another person’s rights.
Automated access, republication, embedding, white-labelling or commercial redistribution may require separate permission or product terms.
Content, trademarks and permitted sharing
The WageWise name, original design, explanatory copy, calculator presentation and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Government legislation, official publications and third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.
You may link to public WageWise pages and quote brief portions with clear attribution. You may not reproduce a substantial part of the website, remove notices, create a misleading copy or imply endorsement or affiliation without permission.
External links and advertising
Links to government and third-party websites are provided for reference. WageWise Canada does not control their availability, security, accessibility or later changes. A link is not an endorsement.
Advertising or sponsored material, when activated, will be labelled and separated from calculator controls. Advertisers do not approve formulas or editorial conclusions. Your interaction with an advertiser or third-party service is governed by that provider’s terms and privacy practices.
Availability, corrections and limitation of liability
The website may be changed, corrected, limited or unavailable without notice. We aim to maintain accurate and accessible information but do not warrant uninterrupted operation, complete coverage or that every result is current for every circumstance.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WageWise Canada and its operators are not responsible for losses arising from reliance on an estimate, unsupported use, inaccurate inputs, third-party services or interruption of the website. Nothing in these terms excludes a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes, severability and contact
We may update these terms when the service, business model or legal requirements change. Material changes will be dated and recorded through the site’s review process. If one provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Questions about these terms can be submitted through the Contact page.
