Minimum Wage Rates and Calculators in Canada

Minimum wage rates and worker categories are jurisdiction-specific and date-effective. Select the jurisdiction and work date before comparing a wage.

Ontario minimum wage resources

Ontario is the first supported jurisdiction, with current and announced rates stored by effective date.

Why the work date matters

A comparison must use the rate in force when the work was performed.

Current Ontario period

October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026

The general rate is $17.60 per hour, with specialized rates for qualifying categories.

Announced Ontario period

October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027

The general rate will be $17.95 per hour and specialized rates will also increase.

Future coverage

Other jurisdictions

Province, territory and federal comparison pages will be added only after their rates and categories are independently verified.

Important: Worker category, employment status, occupation, industry and pay method can affect minimum-wage coverage. The Ontario calculator supports a narrower set of hourly-rate scenarios than the law.
