Calculation summary
Supported scope: Included wages generally cover regular wages, salary, commission, statutory holiday pay, paid vacation and required paid sick days; exclude overtime. Confirm eligibility and any substitute-day agreement.
How this calculator works
For a qualifying employee, the calculator divides included wages from the 30 calendar days before the holiday by the number of days worked or wages earned. If the employee works, it adds time-and-a-half for the first 12 hours and double time after 12 hours.
What this version does not decide
- Whether an absence before or after the holiday affects qualification
- Averaging agreements, substitute days and special industries
- Which payments meet the included-wages definition
- Collective agreements with different or better terms
Where any exclusion applies, use the official source or obtain qualified advice before relying on an estimate.
