Supported scope: Individual termination without cause only. Excludes employees covered by listed exceptions, group termination, contractual or common-law notice, severance, benefits and non-regular earnings. Service of 90 days or less receives zero statutory weeks.
How this calculator works
The tool maps completed service to Alberta’s individual employer-notice table, then averages regular-hours wages over the last 13 weeks in which the employee worked. It multiplies that weekly average by the statutory weeks not worked as notice.
What this version does not decide
- Just cause, resignation, seasonal or fixed-task exceptions
- Construction, casual, strike or lockout and other listed exceptions
- Group termination and temporary-layoff rules
- Contractual or common-law notice, benefits, damages and legal severance
